I turn 23 today! Man, do I feel old.
My parents and siblings are going to see Styx tonight. Why am I not going. Because I didn't realize I could enjoy rock concerts until it was too late to buy me a ticket. Yeah, I can be an idiot at times.
And now, a segment I like to call: "Births, deaths, and other important events that happened on my birthday!"
Births:
Augustus Ceasar (cool!)
Kublai Kahn (neat)
Empress Go-Sakuramachi of Japan (the most recent reigning empress of Japan)
Mary Mallon aka Typhoid Mary (yay?)
Su Buqing (Chinese mathematician and educator)
Mickey Rooney (it's funny because he's short and I'm tall)
Bruce Springsteen (Rock on!)
Maki Goto (Awesome!)
Deaths:
The only one that really interested me was Hiroshi Fujimoto(aka half of the manga writing duo Fujiko F. Fujio) in 1996.
Other interesting stuff:
We have the discovery of Neptune(neat), the founding of Nintendo, the publication of the original Phantom of the Opera novel, the founding of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the first gas chamber experiments at Auschwitz(not neat).
What are my birthday presents, you ask? Well, only the LORD OF THE RINGS BLU-RAY. ALL OF THEM! I am a happy nerd.

Kansas, it's more than just a state.
Jul. 10th, 2011 07:09 amI'll bet you never thought me to be much of a classic American rock fan. Well, I'm not, but yesterday the whole family was going to see Kansas and I decided to come along. We had a great time, even if it did rain before the concert proper. Actually delayed it for a full hour. I didn't get too wet, though I was wondering why everytime we try to make happy family memories, rain is involved.
Kansas did pretty well for a bunch of guys who've been doing this sort of thing since the early 70's. I might have to check out some of their songs tomorrow, especially "Carry On My Wayward Son." It's pretty cool when a band can still draw crowds after 38 years.

Halloween Costumes part 2
Oct. 14th, 2010 07:17 amWhy did that Princess Peach costume even need to be so short? Princess Peach wears a full length gown, not a miniskirt. Now my sister has to return by 11AM today and I'll have to drive her there and ugh.

Day 21: Favorite Opening
Gotta be BBS. You can tell that the graphics have really improved since the first game.
Day 22: Favorite Pairing
Sora/Kairi, although Terra/Aqua is a very close second.
Halloween Costumes and such
Oct. 12th, 2010 08:01 amToday my sister and I are going to go shopping for a Halloween costume for her(I'm reusing the pioneer outfit from our trip to Martin's Cove). She's thinking of Princess Peach or Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. We're also bringing along one of her friends. Don't know what she'll be.

Day 20: Favorite Boss
Call me crazy, but fighting Demyx was fun for me. It wasn't easy, but it wasn't extremely hard, either. I don't get why so many people hate that boss fight.
The things I'll do for Kingdom Hearts
Apr. 22nd, 2010 12:52 pmIf you're not aware of this, Spike TV is airing an all new season of Deadliest Warrior. Don't know what it's about? The premise is that they are testing the weapons and armor of various warriors, ancient and modern, to collect data to simulate what would happen if two different warriors met. And it is awesome!
So, for the first episode this season, they took the best winners of the first season and pitted them against each other, with a dividing line between the ancient and the modern. After all, you don't take a knife to a gun fight. For the ancient warriors, it was a samurai versus a Spartan hoplite. Now my younger brother(who is 13 and 6'4") is a huge Percy Jackson fan, and thus likes Greek stuff in general, while I prefer Japanese stuff. He is always trying to convince me how stupid Japan is, too. So when the Spartan beat the samurai(the Spartan's shield is not only a great defense, but can be used offensively as well), my bro was walking on air. That's when he tried to get me to say that Greece rules and Japan sucks. I did, and thought that was the end of it. But no, he had to record it, on my computer, no less. He says he's going to put it up on the internet.
You're probably wondering why I would record something like that. Well, let's just say that he bribed me with Birth By Sleep, and I could not resist. Hence the title of this entry. I can't help but feel like he's slightly hypocritical, as he loves Kingdom Hearts, which is from Japan.
Chapter 2 of Worlds Without Number is coming along nicely so far. A little note on how I write: I actually physically write my fics down before I type them up. I've tried typing them straight from my head, but it just doesn't work for me.
