As you may or may not know, I am a Mormon. This past weekend was LDS General Conference, and I thoroughly enjoyed the messages shared. I think my favorite was Elder Holland's talk on how the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints make the church what it is, no matter how small their church calling may seem.

Now that the spiritual stuff is out of the way, lets talk about fanfiction. Specifically, how I should proceed. I've already got an idea for number 100, but I want to save that one for last. I'm not going in order, but I do want that one to be the finale. I will for sure crossover Maglor with my favorite shows and games(Avatar:The Last Airbender, Kingdom Hearts, etc.), but not Lord of the Rings, since they come from the same universe.

Day 12: Favorite FF cameo

I'll admit that I didn't have the foggiest idea what Final Fantasy was before Kingdom Hearts, so I don't really have a proper frame of reference. I will say that I enjoyed Auron's cameo immensely.

Excited!

I just got the word that my claim for [livejournal.com profile] crossovers100 was accepted! Hooray! Now I can start on the fanfics! My claim is Maglor from The Silmarillion(I am such a Tolkien nerd), in case you wanted to know.

Day 11: Saddest Scene

Well, I haven't played through BBS yet so I don't have all the individual scenes in my memory yet(although I do know how it all ends). We'll just have to wait and see.

Yesterday while browsing around LJ, I came across [livejournal.com profile] crossover100 . Immediately I thought "You know what? I could use a challenge like this. It'll get me writing more, and I'll be able to polish my writing skills further."  Mind you, I don't think my writing is all that bad, but there is always room for improvement.

I have no clue as to whether or not it will further delay my current fic. Hopefully, it will actually speed it along.

Gotta be the ending of KHII.

Job rant

Dear potential employers,

Why aren't you giving me a chance? Sure, I have no job experience, but when has that ever been an automatic "no?" Besides, it's not like I'm asking for anything above minimum wage. Sure, you'll have to train me, but I am loyal to a fault and I really want to do my best at everything. My weight obviously isn't a factor in me not getting a job, because I applied at Lane Bryant and haven't heard back. Why is it so hard to give a newbie a chance.

If you can't tell, I am really irritated by my lack of employment. I am just so bored all the time. And broke. I never thought I'd be envious of my sister working at McDonald's, but I am.

Fanfic is kinda stalled at the moment. I'm stuck on clothing designs for Frankenstein's creature. Weird how the littlest things can totally derail you.

Seriously. I didn't even watch Lost that much when it was airing. I would see parts of various episodes, but never an entire one. The same is true with the series finale. Pretty much the only part I've seen is the last 10 minutes or so. And yes, I cried like a baby.

It wasn't so much because it was sad, though. It was because it represents all my hopes for the afterlife; being reunited with the people most important to you. I even wrote the outline of a fanfic set at the end of my current project based on it. It's really rough because I wrote it down last night before I went to bed, and it will be some time before I publish it. Still, I think it is the perfect ending to it all.

Haven't started on chapter 3 yet, because my eyes have been too full of tears. Will get on it ASAP.

No, I'm not getting a mobile device. That's way farther down the line. I'm talking about getting my driver's license, hopefully within the next two weeks! I am both super excited and nervous. Nervous because I 'm just like that; excited because I can't wait to be able to drive both me and my sister to church! Or anywhere, for that matter!

Hit a bit of a snag with my fanfic. Nothing serious, just difficulty making time to write. I find that to be a very common problem with me.

And now for more fanfic reccomendations!

Don't Drink The SkeleGrow www.fanfiction.net/s/4116499/1/  I'll admit that I'm not much of a Harry Potter fan, but when you cross it over with Psych, you bet I'm gonna read it. Basically, Shawn reads a spell that traps him and Gus at Hogwarts. Chaos ensues. More a series of related vignettes than an actual story, but it's still a great read. The writer has got Shawn and Gus down perfectly. Set during Harry's 5th year.

Those Lacking Spines www.fanfiction.net/s/2903858/1/  If you are a Kingdom Hearts fan and have not read this, you must read it. NOW. This great story parodies many of the ever-present cliches found in Kingdom Hearts fanfiction(and fanfiction in general) while still having an overriding plot. And it will make you laugh so hard you'll find it painful to breath. You will never think of Vexen the same way after reading this.

Tsubasa Crossover Chronicle www.fanfiction.net/s/3009229/1/  Pretty much exactly what it says on the tin. A series of humorous bits that crossover Tsubasa Chronicle with just about anything under the sun, and it's not done yet. The only chapter that takes place after the Tokyo arc is the Twilight chapter(which Twihards will most likely want to avoid like the plauge while everyone else laughs their butts off), so no major spoilers here. Plenty of laughs, though.

Under the Mallorn www.fanfiction.net/s/5901890/1/  James Cameron's Avatar and Lord of the Rings crossover. Any such crossover would have to be pure crack. And yet this is the most seriously written crack I have ever seen in my life. It's short and oddly formatted, but that's about the only things I can say need improvement in this fic.

What Once Was www.fanfiction.net/s/5054612/1/  Axis Powers Hetalia and Lord of the Rings crossover. The tense kinda shifts around a bit, but the overall concept is one that I am immensely fond of, namely Middle-Earth being our Earth. And of course, being a Hetalia crossover, there are national personifications for Gondor and all other Middle-Earth lands.

That's all the reccomendations I have for now. I'll post more when they come to me.

...and even though I just started, I think I'm addicted.

I was looking around LJ when I came across this RP called Empty Earth. If you're into roleplaying on LJ, I highly reccomend you go check it out. It's a multi-fandom RP, so if you've got a particular character from a particular fandom you like to RP, by all means use that one. I play Galadriel from Tolkien's works. We've also got Marco from Animorphs, Hiyoshi Wakashi from Prince of Tennis, Florina from Legend of Mana, and Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon.

So if I don't update this journal for a while, it's probably because of I'm RPing. I don't know how it will affect my fanfic's progress, but at the moment, I'm not too concerned.

If you're not aware of this, Spike TV is airing an all new season of Deadliest Warrior. Don't know what it's about? The premise is that they are testing the weapons and armor of various warriors, ancient and modern, to collect data to simulate what would happen if two different warriors met. And it is awesome!

So, for the first episode this season, they took the best winners of the first season and pitted them against each other, with a dividing line between the ancient and the modern. After all, you don't take a knife to a gun fight. For the ancient warriors, it was a samurai versus a Spartan hoplite. Now my younger brother(who is 13 and 6'4") is a huge Percy Jackson fan, and thus likes Greek stuff in general, while I prefer Japanese stuff. He is always trying to convince me how stupid Japan is, too. So when the Spartan beat the samurai(the Spartan's shield is not only a great defense, but can be used offensively as well), my bro was walking on air. That's when he tried to get me to say that Greece rules and Japan sucks. I did, and thought that was the end of it. But no, he had to record it, on my computer, no less. He says he's going to put it up on the internet.

You're probably wondering why I would record something like that. Well, let's just say that he bribed me with Birth By Sleep, and I could not resist. Hence the title of this entry. I can't help but feel like he's slightly hypocritical, as he loves Kingdom Hearts, which is from Japan.

Chapter 2 of Worlds Without Number is coming along nicely so far. A little note on how I write: I actually physically write my fics down before I type them up. I've tried typing them straight from my head, but it just doesn't work for me.
